Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker hints at collaboration with Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner

Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker is open to the idea of collaborating with Arctic Monkey’s very own Alex Turner.

Parker, who joined Beats 1’s Matt Wilkinson in the studio to discuss new Tame Impala material, was drawn into a conversation about Arctic Monkeys and their new album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino. It is no secret that the bands share mutual friends, the relationship even goes as far as sharing members in the shape of Cameron Avery who plays live with both bands.

Speculation between a potential collaboration between Turner and Parker has been rife in recent years and, when asked about it, the Tame Impala man remained open to the idea: “Absolutely, yeah, I mean I’m always keen for trying new things and I haven’t really worked with someone like Alex,” he replied.

When talking about the Monkeys’ new album he added: “I don’t get much time to listen to a lot of new music these days but from what I’ve heard it’s awesome and I’m proud of Cam [Cameron Avery] for getting involved there.”
