Liam Gallagher has shared the video for his festive anthem ‘All You’re Dreaming Of’, an effort which has been directed by Peaky Blinders’ Anthony Byrne.
Gallagher released the track last month and it has been met with warmth by his avid fanbase. The track is the first bit of new music from the former Oasis singer since his chart-topping second solo album Why Me? Why Not? in 2019. All proceeds from the track will generously be going towards Action For Children, a charity who will be using the money raised by Gallagher to help those children who need it most over the festivities.
“‘All You’re Dreaming Of’ is an instant classic that is perfect for this time of year,” Gallagher said with all the confidence in the world about the track. “Considering the year that we’ve all had, I hope this brings back some much needed love and hope. Bing Crosby would have been proud,” he previously said in a statement.
The video manages to toe the line well of being festive, without accidentally slipping into something overtly cheesy — which is a testament to the quality of Byrne. There’s also a poignant nod to John Lennon at the end of the video, exactly 40 years on from the death of The Beatle. The final shot sees the phrase ‘This is not here’ written on a windowpane, which is the very same phrase that appears in Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ video.
Director Anthony Byrne said in a statement: “It was a pleasure to make this video for Liam, to work with him again and to continue to develop this work which has been very rewarding.
“There’s a trust there that makes the process that bit easier and hopefully the result is something that strikes a chord with his fans and also reaches a new audience. That is the power of this song.”
