Liam Gallagher to stream ‘Down By The River Thames’ virtual gig

Liam Gallagher has announced that fans will finally get to see him perform live once more, although it will be in a virtual arena as the pandemic continues to put a stop to live performances as we know and love them. However, at least Gallagher has got some plans in place to tide us over.

The former Oasis man has announced a virtual gig with a twist as his stage will be on a barge travelling along the River Thames. The show is appropriately titled Down By The River Thames and the event will be airing exclusively on MelodyVR on December 5th. The news was initially leaked after fan footage captured Gallagher performing with his band on the river last week.

Now it all makes sense as to why he was performing on a barge and Gallagher has revealed that fans will be able to see him rip through hits from his two successful solo albums as well as some Oasis rarities and a promise to unleash the classics.

Gallagher announced the news in his trademark style, “To all my brothers and sisters around the world. I’m performing a one-off celestial live performance for you to stream, ‘Down By The River Thames’, on 5th December 2020,” he said.

“I’ll be performing tracks from my two number 1 solo albums as well as some stone cold Oasis classics, some of which you haven’t heard me sing for a long, long time. C’mon you know.”

The ticketed performance will be made available for fans for £16.50, with tickets for the virtual gig going on sale here from 9am on November 13th. The stream will be shown at different time zones across the world which you can check out along with the trailer, below.
