Watch Leonardo DiCaprio star in trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘One Battle After Another’
The new extensive trailer has arrived for Paul Thomas Anderson’s new movie, One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
Last week, a 20-second teaser trailer arrived, providing movie lovers with the first glimpse at one of this year’s most anticipated films. Now, a full-length promotional clip has been released of One Battle After Another. It also stars Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Teyana Taylor, Regina Hall, and Licourice Pizza’s Alana Haim.
The story stars Di Caprio as a civil rights activist who joins forces with an anti-government group that aims to take down a white nationalist group that is led by Sean Penn.
In addition to producing the movie, Anderson also wrote the script for One Battle After Another and produced the film alongside Sara Morphy and Adam Somner, the latter of whom sadly died in November at the age of 57.
One Battle After Another is based on Thomas Pynchon’s 1997 novel, Vineland, but Anderson has chosen to set it in the modern day to give his production a modern twist.
The novel’s synopsis reads: “Here, in an Orwellian 1984, Zoyd Wheeler and his daughter Prairie search for Prairie’s long-lost mother, a Sixties radical who ran off with a narc. ‘Vineland’ is vintage Pynchon, full of quasi-allegorical characters, elaborate unresolved subplots, corny songs (‘Floozy with an Uzi’), movie spoofs (Pee-wee Herman in The Robert Musil Story), and illicit sex (including a macho variation on the infamous sportscar scene in V.).”
In addition to starring in One Battle After Another, DiCaprio is set to reunite with Martin Scorsese once again for his new motion picture about a Hawaiian mob boss and their long-awaited Devil in the White City adaptation.
One Battle After Another is set to arrive in cinemas on September 26th.
