LCD Soundsystem confirm details of New York residency

New York legends LCD Soundsystem are coming home for a new residency in November and December.

Later this year, the James Murphy-led group will be taking over the Knockdown Center in Queens for 12 shows, which is their fifth annual residency in New York.

They will begin their Thursday to Sunday residency in late November with shows on November 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd. LCD Soundsystem will return to the Knockdown Center on December 4th with more shows on the 5th, 6th, and 7th.

The final leg of their residency will commence on December 10th with further concerts on the 11th, 12th and 13th. In addition to putting on 12 shows in New York, there will also be nightly after-parties featuring DJ sets from special guests, a DFA Records swap meet, and a pop-up of Murphy’s Four Horseman wine bar.

Notably, their residency was also held at the Knockdown Center, a venue that holds over 3,000 people, in 2024.

Earlier this summer, LCD Soundsystem completed an eight-date residency at the O2 Academy Brixton in London, multiple festival appearances in Europe, including Primavera Sound, as well as an ongoing headline tour of the United States. They will also co-headline two nights at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles later this month.

Speculation over a new album arose when, upon announcing the band’s participation at Primavera Sound, the Barcelona event shared in late 2024: “The influential band led by James Murphy will come back to the festival (and with a new album!) to make it clear that, although they are an inherent part of our best memories, their time is always now.”

While there is still no news regarding a new album from LCD Soundsystem, they did release the standalone single ‘X-Ray Eyes’ in 2024.
