Following the seismic release of Lana Del Rey’s most recent album Chemtrails Over the Country Club, the singer has moved quickly to announce her next record, Rock Candy Sweet in what has to be one of the swiftest promotional switches we’ve ever witnessed.
The new album isn’t too far away, either. Perhaps because of the delay to Chemtrails Over the Country Club incurred by the global pandemic, Del Rey was ready to release a new record quicker than expected. Still, either way, we’re excited to hear what she’s been working on.
It’s a trademark of the ‘Venice Bitch’ singer. Del Rey followed up her 2019 release of Norman Fucking Rockwell with the swift announcement of Chemtrails Over The Country Club and has seemingly done the same for the new album’s announcement, which will arrive on June 1st.
The announcement came via Del Rey’s Instagram page. She shared her thanks for the recent album’s widespread acclaim and explained a little about the Chemtrails Over the Country Club album cover, which has initially referred to in Harper’s Bazaar.
“Just want to thank you again for the kind articles like this one and for reminding me that my career was built on cultural appropriation and glamorising domestic abuse,” the singer continued on her Instagram story, “I will continue to challenge those thoughts on my next record on June 1 titled Rock Candy Sweet.”
The release on March 19th of Chemtrails Over the Country Club came with a brand new video for ‘White Dress’, one of the album’s standout singles. You can watch the video below.
