Watch Joan Baez cover Bob Dylan during Lana Del Rey concert
Lana Del Rey has been making headlines whilst on the road touring her new record Norman Fucking Rockwell across America recently, thanks to a whole host of huge names joining her for special renditions, and in Berkeley, California, last night, she was joined by Greenwich Village icon Joan Baez.
During the show, which took place at the legendary Greek Theatre, Del Rey introduced Baez to the crowd before the pair duetted on ‘Diamonds & Rust’ taken from the singer’s album of the same name from 1975. After this, Del Rey departed from the stage, allowing the 78-year-old to perform a special cover of fellow Greenwich Village alumni Bob Dylan’s ‘Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright’.
Later in the show, Del Rey revealed another special guest for her crowd when she introduced Leonard Cohen’s son, Adam, for the second time on this leg of the tour to re-create their glorious cover of ‘Chelsea Hotel #2’, which you can watch fan-footage of below.
These covers have become a highly anticipated part of the tour so far, with Del Rey also integrating Joni Mitchell’s ‘For Free’ into her setlist, which she posted on social media. The Norman Fucking Rockwell tour sails on to Sacramento and Los Angeles this week, where no doubt there will be more surprises and special guests in store for fans.
