Lana Del Rey clashes with photographers who follow her in Paris: “Get away from me”
During a recent trip to Paris, Lana Del Rey called out photographers who were following her around and asked them to respect her limited time to herself.
Del Rey has a busy summer full of festivals lined up in 2024. After kicking things off with Coachella back in April, Del Rey has since taken to stages at Hangout, I-Days and two editions of Primavera Sound. She is also set to play Rock en Seine and Reading and Leeds this August.
In the midst of her festival duties, Del Rey ventured to the French capital city for a break, where she was met with some particularly insistent photographers. In a video captured by TMZ, Del Rey can be seen criticising the people with cameras and asking them to respect her wish for some alone time. “You followed me with my family,” she asserts, “Get away from me.”
Del Rey repeatedly asked the photographers to stop following her before declaring, “I am upset. Don’t let them follow me. I only have one day here. I work every single day. I have four hours to myself.” When an unknown voice told her not to scream, she responded, “Shut up! Don’t follow people.”
The video of Del Rey clashing with the photographers made its way onto social media, prompting the star to comment in response. She stated that the “assholes” had told her they would use their photos to make her “look bad” after their “fight”.
Del Rey has another month or so before her next festival appearance at Reading Festival in the United Kingdom, but she is scheduled to perform at her first-ever stadium show in the meantime. She is due to play a one-off performance at Fenway Park in Boston later this month, on June 20th.
The ‘Summertime Sadness’ star seems to be gearing up for the release of her tenth studio album later this year. Following the success of Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd in 2023, Del Rey will link up with award-winning producer Jack Antonoff again for Lasso, which will venture further into Americana. The record is scheduled for release this September.
Last year, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd received a Grammy nomination for ‘Album of the Year’ but lost out to another Antonoff project, Taylor Swift’s Midnights. Del Rey also received a nomination for ‘Best Alternative Album’.
