Lady Gaga on Trent Reznor: “I black out every time I’m in his presence”

Lady Gaga has revealed that she “blacks out” when in the company of Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor.

Speaking with Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radio show on March 11th, the host chose to play Nine Inch Nails’ 1994 hit ‘Closer’, before turning to Gaga and asking for her thoughts on Reznor.

Gaga has already proclaimed that she is a massive fan of Nine Inch Nails and revealed that song, in particular, was an influence on some of her most recent music. Responding to the host’s questioning of why she loves the song, she responded simply by saying, “It’s so good”, before telling Stern how she reacts whenever she meets Reznor.

“I forget the first time,” Gaga responded, before adding “I think I black out every time I’m in his presence. He’s an amazing musician.” When asked if she ever felt intimidated by him, she replied: “Not intimidated, just really excited, stoked, quiet.”

The singer was appearing on Stern’s show to promote the recent release of her new studio album, Mayhem. During the broadcast, she played acoustic versions of two songs from the album, treating listeners to ‘Abracadabra’, and ‘Perfect Celebrity’.

She also recently made several appearances on Saturday Night Live, performing a rare double duty of hosting and being the musical guest on the late-night sketch show, while also making an appearance as part of the show’s 50th anniversary celebrations in February.

Lady Gaga will be topping the bill at the upcoming edition of Coachella Festival over two weekends in April alongside fellow headliners Green Day, Post Malone and Travis Scott, before embarking on a series of dates in Mexico, Brazil and Singapore.
