Kneecap hit out at David Draiman for Tom Morello criticism

Kneecap have used some harsh words to describe David Draiman after the Disturbed frontman hit out at Tom Morello for his support of the Irish trio.

The Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello recently claimed that the rap band were “clearly the Rage Against The Machine of now. Like, there’s them and there’s a gap to the next one.” He also insisted they were “not terrorists”.

Kneecap have recently been at the heart of controversy as member Mo Chara was charged with a terror offence for allegedly waving a Hezbollah flag on stage last November.

In response, the Disturbed frontman, David Draiman, reacted to the news of Morello’s new comments by sharing Far Out’s original article on social media, adding his own thoughts to the story. “Shameful. Truly,” he wrote.

He also added, “Wish I could say I was shocked. Guess my family doesn’t count, when it comes to my ‘friend’s’ virtue signaling for those who support terror, and incite Jew hatred.”

A day after Draiman’s post went up on X, Kneecap shared the response with their own comments. “We don’t care what religion anyone is…or if they’ve one at all,” they began. “We love all sound cunts.”

They then referenced a huge Draiman scandal, when the singer visited Israeli army bases last year and signed bombs for them. They wrote, “Smiling and signing bombs dropped to murder kids and other people’s families just makes you a straight up cunt. Simple as. Free Palestine.”

Recently, Draiman performed at the Black Sabbath farewell show on July 5th in Birmingham, where he was met by a chorus of boos in response to his political leanings. The star also responded to this, writing “I wasn’t ‘booed off stage’ as so many people in the press and CERTAINLY Free Palestine crowd, would have you believe.”

Kneecap are also facing continued backlash for their public support of Palestine. Recently, Rock en Seine, one of France’s most popular music festivals held just outside of Paris, has suffered a €40,000 funding cut due to their decision to keep Kneecap on the line-up.
