Kneecap announce biggest ever English show at Wembley Arena
Kneecap have announced that they are set to perform their biggest ever show in England to date, taking on Wembley Arena. The Irish rap trio made the announcement on June 3rd via their social media, marking one of their most high-profile shows to date in the 12,500 capacity arena in London, which they are set to play on September 18th, 2025.
It appears to be the latest comeback from Kneecap, who have been embroiled in scandals in the recent weeks and months over their political stance, resulting in member Mo Chara, real name Liam Og O Hannaidh, being slammed with a terror offence charge on May 21st.
The controversy led to the group losing their slot at the TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow over safety concerns expressed by Police Scotland, but they are still set to play a run of big shows in preparation for their Wembley concert.
Indeed, with the announcement of their TRSNMT performance being axed, Kneecap responded by staging their own gig at Glasgow’s O2 Academy on July 8th, tickets for which sold out in less than 30 seconds. They seem to have no intention of backing down or stopping their performances.
As things stand, they are currently still set to perform on the Woodsies stage at Glastonbury on June 28th, despite numerous calls for them to be axed from the festival line-up by various political and public figures.
Once done with Glastonbury, the band will then be heading out on a summer tour supporting Fontaines DC, where they will play a string of huge outdoor shows including Finsbury Park in London, Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park, and the Boucher Road Playing Fields in Belfast.
Tickets for Kneecap’s Wembley Arena show will go on sale June 6th, with presale options beginning from June 4th.
