Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs trial: Kid Cudi says his Porsche was destroyed by Molotov cocktail
Kid Cudi has testified in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sex trafficking trial. The Cleveland rapper took the witness stand on May 22nd after it was alleged that the Bad Boy boss blew up his car amid his relationship with Cassie.
Cudi revealed that he and Cassie met at an event in 2008 but started dating in 2011. He alleged that Cassie had issues with Combs at the time, despite believing they were no longer dating.
According to NBC News, Cudi claimed that in December 2011, he received a phone call from Cassie informing him that Combs found out about their relationship. Cudi alleged she was nervous and told him that Combs was abusive. After asking to pick her up, Cudi said he took her to Sunset Marquis, a hotel in West Hollywood, to protect her from Combs.
Cudi claimed he received a call from Combs’ employee, Capricorn Clark, telling him that Combs and one of his associates had broken into his Hollywood Hills home. He said Cassie was on speaker with Clark at the time.
The ‘Day N Nite’ rapper revealed his anger about his home being broken into while claiming Combs was extremely calm when he called to confront him. Cudi told the court, “He said, ‘What’s up?’ and I said, ‘Motherfucker, are you in my house?’ He said, ‘I am here waiting for you.'”
Kid Cudi’s car caught fire on his driveway in 2012 when he was around 45 minutes from home. He rushed back after his dog sitter informed him of the incident, with his friend sending him photos of his Porsche with a Molotov cocktail thrown inside after alleging a hole was cut in the roof.
This comes after Cassie testified that Combs threatened her and Cudi, claiming Combs wanted to set fire to his car on his driveway. She told the court that Combs had assured her it would not be by his hands and that he would not be in the country when it happened.
Cudi contacted Combs and claims to have said, “Let’s talk, this is getting out of hand.” Upon meeting at Soho House, Cudi said Combs was “standing there like a Marvel super villain. He said, ‘We were homies, you know that is my girl.’ Cudi told him that he thought they had broken up, before Combs offered him water. He found it “weird” how calm he was.
When Cudi questioned him about his car, he allegedly told him, “I don’t know what you are talking about,” before Cudi walked away. They bumped into each other a few years later, with Combs allegedly telling him, “I’m just sorry for all that bullshit.” Cudi claimed he was surprised and found peace in it.
Cudi revealed that he and Cassie stopped talking, claiming she played him and he had no clue. The judge shut down questions about whether he and Cassie ever had a sexual relationship. Cudi said Cassie never told him that Combs sexually abused her, before admitting he “loved” her. Combs’ attorney claimed Cassie played both him and Combs.
Amid questioning, Kid Cudi stated Cassie gave Combs his home address, to which Combs’ lawyer said, “No more questions. Thanks.” Cudi claimed their relationship ended as the “drama was getting out of hand” and he wanted to “give space” for his and her safety, believing Combs was “violent.”
