Kevin Spacey settles with sexual abuse accusers out of court

Kevin Spacey has settled out of court with three men who launched a UK civil suit against the actor before a London trial due later this year.

In November last year, it was revealed that the three men sued the star, claiming sexual assault between 2000 and 2013. At a hearing on November 26th, a judge put forth the provisional trial date of October 12th, 2026.

However, those proceedings have been frozen following the settlement. No clear details of the settlement between Spacey and his accusers have been revealed.

One of the men alleged that Spacey assaulted him on approximately 12 occasions between 2000 and 2005.

Another alleged that he met Spacey at London’s Old Vic theatre through a workshop, as he was stationed as artistic director of the Old Vic from 2004 to 2013; following this, he allegedly “suffered psychiatric damage and financial loss” as a result of an assault on Spacey’s behalf in 2008

The third accuser waived his right to anonymity during the proceedings. Ruari Cannon performed in Tennessee Williams’ play Sweet Bird of Youth at the London theatre, the Old Vic, in 2013.

According to Cannon, Spacey allegedly groped him at a party after the show’s press night; Cannon was in the Channel 4 documentary, Spacey Unmasked, in 2024.

Spacey has since said the allegation was “ridiculous and it never happened”, as he continues to deny all of the allegations brought against him.

Spacey has only worked sporadically since allegations of sexual misconduct were made against him in 2017. At that time, he lost his role in All the Money in the World, which he had been cast in at the time the accusations surfaced.
