New movie from ‘South Park’ creators and Kendrick Lamar delayed by Paramount again
In an unlikely collaboration, Kendrick Lamar and South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are still smoothing out the details of their untitled comedy film. To add another spanner into the works, Paramount has delayed the feature again.
The film was originally set for a July 2025 release, but it was first delayed to March 20th, 2026.
Now, there is no confirmed release date for the project. The trio will have to wait a while longer for any news on that front.
Parker, Stone, Lamar and Paramount released a joint statement to reassure fans that the project is still moving forward, just at a much slower pace. They explained, “It’s true – we’re moving (again). We’re working hard at finishing the movie.”
South Park has been in the firing line for much backlash from the Trump administration and beyond, as their latest episodes have not shied away from depicting Trump and various personalities in his political entourage.
White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers commented on one of the episodes depicting Trump, “The Left’s hypocrisy truly has no end – for years they have come after South Park for what they labelled as ‘offence’ content, but suddenly they are praising the show.”
Rogers continued, “Just like the creators of South Park, the Left has no authentic or original content, which is why their popularity continues to hit record lows. This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.”
As for Lamar, he is currently on tour and will be until the end of 2025. He enjoyed huge success recently after being nominated for nine different categories at the Grammys.
Lamar has topped the list with the most nominations of the cohort, including nominations in coveted categories such as ‘Record of the Year’, ‘Song of the Year’, and ‘Album of the Year’, centring around his 2024 surprise release, GNX.
At the time of writing, the new project has no title or plot attached to it.
