Jameela Jamil defends Chappell Roan for setting “minor boundaries” amid Jorginho incident

Jameela Jamil has come to the support of Chappell Roan, after a recent altercation with a security guard, and Jorginho’s 11-year-old daughter has invited much scrutiny over her alleged actions.

The viral incident between the unlikely pair happened before Roan’s set at Lollapalooza Brazil, when a security guard acted aggressively towards Jorginho’s daughter after she attempted to get a glimpse of the star.

Roan has since shared her side of the story, as she was “unaware” of the situation and that his daughter “did not deserve that”. She insisted in the social media video, “I do not hate people who are fans of my music; I do not hate children.”

Now, Jamil has weighed in on the viral moment as Roan finds herself once again unfavourably depicted by the media.

Sharing the post with her 4.3 million followers, Jamil explained that Roan is receiving unprecedented levels of “hate” because “She is pro Palestine. Pro women. Pro asking for basic respect in the industry. She left a huge management firm publicly because the owner was in the Epstein files.”

Here, Jamil refers to the Wasserman agency, which Roan publicly left after the CEO’s name came up n the files relating to the late paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.

Jamil went on, “She’s pro trans. She’s gay. She’s anti-establishment. She de-centres men in all of her rhetoric and empowers millions of young people. She calls out her own industry for neglecting the health of young artists.”

Jamil used sarcastic rhetoric to point out obviously that the media frenzy around the ‘Pink Pony Club’ is a “whipped-up smear campaign, exaggerating her every move, or blaming her for the actions of people in her team in order to make an example of a woman who set a few minor boundaries for herself, for her own mental health.”

Jamil reminded followers that this wasn’t the first time she had made such a warning: “Remember, I have been telling you for 7 years now, a woman is only allowed 2 years at the top before she is dragged into hell and submission. I told you there would be another girl soon.”

In the caption of her post, the celebrity drew parallels to the recent news surrounding Transformers actor, Shia Lebouf, who was recently accused of a homophobic hate crime and was also arrested in New Orleans.

Jamil shared, “Shia le bouf, this same week. just got seen SCREAMING at some random woman at a table next to him, and it has not made this level of world news. He got 7 articles about it. Chappell got 125 and counting in the past two days.”
