Jack White calls for the arrest of Donald Trump over racist post about the Obamas
Jack White has slammed Donald Trump once again, calling for the President’s arrest over a racist post he made, which depicted Barack and Michelle Obama as apes.
On February 6th, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to share a clip of the pair at the end of a 62-second video about election conspiracy theories. It was later taken down.
White was one of the people to see the post before it was removed, and wrote online incredulously, “This post would basically get anyone, at any job fired immediately…except for arguably the most important position in the world.”
Writing to his 1.1million Instagram followers alongside a screenshot of the seemingly AI-generated piece, the musician continued, “That’s right, trump is a racist, a rapist, a felon, a grifter (currently ordering the US govt. to pay him 10 billion dollars simply because no one will stop him.) and a full on dementia sufferer, and yet he has the power to send in gestapo ICE soldiers to kill our citizens, and so much more dangerously, has the nuclear codes and the ability to end humanity at any moment based on an egotistical whim.”
White hypothesised several reasons why this may have come about, before writing simply, “The fact that we aren’t stopping it is…insanity. Arrest this man. Impeach this man. 25th amendment this man. Indict this man. Jail this man. This longtime friend of pedophile Epstein, who appears 40 thousand times in the files.”
White discussed his vision of the future, in which he would “Abolish the two party system (that George Washington advised us never to have) that got us here in the first place and has failed not only Americans, but everyone else in the world who is currently suffering from our policies and suffering from the whims of this sick, deranged man who I will state again, has his tiny, bruised fingers on the nuclear launch button.”
At the other end of the spectrum, Press Secretary of the White House, Karoline Leavitt, defended the video: “This is from an internet meme video depicting President Trump as the King of the Jungle and Democrats as characters from The Lion King.“
She added, “Please stop the fake outrage and report on something today that actually matters to the American public.”
White has often been vocal about his hatred for the President; last August, White criticised Trump’s redecoration of the Oval Office, describing it as a “vulgar, gold-leafed and gaudy, professional wrestler’s dressing room.”
In December, White deemed Trump a “disgusting, vile, egomaniac, loser, child.”
More recently, he made fun of a briefing delivered by the President in January, using caveman syntax in a post online to poke fun at his intelligence levels.
