Bristolian punk heroes IDLES have shared the initial trailer for their upcoming documentary Don’t Go Gentle.
The trailer for the documentary features interviews with frontman Joe Talbot, former Maccabees man Hugo White as well as 6Music’s Steve Lamacq who has been a great champion of the band and the positive punk movement they have created.
In the clip, Lamacq poignantly says: “After all these years of rock and roll, it turns out all we needed was brutal honesty from an angry looking man in Bristol.”
Talbot poetically states in the trailer: “People need inclusivity and they need community, and they need a feeling of acceptance through imperfection. That’s the whole point of what we’re saying.”
The description for Don’t Go Gentle, reads: “Don’t Go Gentle is a film about finding strength in vulnerability. It journeys through IDLES determination, friendship and adversity as they fight for a place in a divided socio-political environment, unexpectedly inspiring and unifying an international community along the way.”
The film will be available to rent from June 1st for £5.99 at this link.
IDLES recently announced their euphoric comeback with the incredible ‘Mr. Motivator‘ which is the perfect antidote of positivity needed in these strange times we find ourselves in as the Bristolians tease their third full-length record.
