Idles will screen their legendary Le Bataclan show along with a band Q&A

When a live album is so good that it makes its way into the top 50 albums of the year list, you know you have something special on your hands. And Idles’ live LP A Beautiful Thing: IDLES Live at Le Bataclan is certainly special.

Now, the Bristolian punks have announced that they will be screening the entire show on YouTube as well as members of the band taking part in a Q&A with fans and answering questions about the show. Part 1 of the show arrives this evening.

Idles have already shared snippets of the show via some incendiary releases towards the end of last year. But seeing the whole sweat-inducing mass of good spirit alongside the band from start to finish will be a new experience.

“All next week at 19:00 BST we will be doing screenings of our Bataclan show over on the YouTubes,” the band announced via Instagram.

“As a Brucey bonus, each member of IDLES will be doing a live Q&A with @afgangaf hero Brian at the wheel straight after screenings,” they added. “You can ask questions live or enter in the comments now below x.”

As part of the release of the live album last year, the band released a statement as to why this show, in particular, was so important to them: “Our show at Le Bataclan was the end of a very long journey for us. On that tour, we learnt so much about ourselves, each other and the audiences we have grown with over the past 10 years.

“That show was nothing short of catharsis and nothing more than love. We love what we do and the people who have carried us here, there was no hiding that night at Le Bataclan and we are so very grateful that the moment was captured in all its glory, love and fatigue. Long live the open-minded and long live the moment.”
