Hayley Williams officially releases new album ‘Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party’
Hayley Williams has officially released her new 18-track album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.
Williams has teased fans with the project for some time now, debuting the first track on a local Nashville radio station and then leaking 16 more via a website that needed a special code for access. The code was made available after a purchase from her hair company, Good Dye Young, but could also be shared online.
A short while after this, Williams uploaded each song to streaming services, with specific artwork. She was careful to deny that this body of work was an “album” thus far.
However, on August 28th, the Paramore vocalist debuted a new track, ‘Parachute’, on BBC Radio 1, when she announced that the entire collection of singles will be available as an album titled Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party. This is the name of the tenth track on the album.
The album, produced by Daniel James, features contributions from Joey Howard and Paramore touring bandmate Brian Robert Jones. Lorde and Bon Iver collaborator Jim-E Stack also contributed to the song ‘True Believer’.
An accompanying tour may also come alongside the project, though it has yet to be announced. At the end of 2024, in the wake of supporting Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour, the star wrote on social media, “I’m going to try and finally play some shows next year that would’ve happened nearly 5 years ago now. That is, if the world doesn’t fucking stop before then. Here’s hoping.”
The project follows her first solo album, 2020’s Petals for Armor, and her second, softer album, 2021’s Flowers for Vases / Descansos. Solo career aside, the ‘Misery Business’ singer has worked on plenty of recent collaborative projects with David Byrne, Jay Som, Turnstile, and more.
Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party is available on all streaming platforms now.
