Grammys 2026: Turnstile dominate rock categories with five nominations
Turnstile have dominated the rock categories at the Grammys with five nominations.
The hardcore group, who have just wrapped up the UK and Ireland leg of their current European tour, will be looking to win their first Grammy when the prestigious ceremony returns to the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 1st, 2026.
Following their mainstream breakthrough record, 2021’s Glow On, they secured three nominations at the ceremony at the Grammys for ‘Best Metal Performance’, ‘Best Rock Song’ and ‘Best Rock Performance’. However, the Baltimore natives missed out on all three awards.
This time round, their latest record, Never Enough, is nominated for ‘Best Rock Album’. In this category, they face competition from Haim, Linkin Park, Yungblud and Deftones. The title track, ‘Never Enough’, is also shortlisted for ‘Best Rock Performance’, and ‘Best Rock Song’.
Meanwhile, ‘Birds’ is nominated for ‘Best Metal Performance’, and ‘Seein’ Stars’, which features Hayley Williams and Blood Orange, is among the five nominees in the ‘Best Alternative Music Performance’ category.
Other acts from the rock and alternative world with reason to celebrate include Wet Leg. The Isle of Wight five-piece are nominated for ‘Best Alternative Music Performance’ for their single, ‘Mangetout’. Their second album, Moisturizer, is also shortlisted for ‘Best Alternative Music Album’ and ‘Best Album Cover’.
Additionally, Yungblud has been honoured with three nominations, too. His live performance of Black Sabbath’s ‘Changes’, recorded at Villa Park in Birmingham at Back to the Beginning, is up for ‘Best Rock Performance’. Idols is nominated for ‘Best Rock Album’ and ‘Zombie’ is among the five tracks vying for Best Rock Song’.
Following the announcement, he took to Instagram to write, “I’m with my best friends watching the nominations on a laptop an hour before I go on stage. I’m so lucky to do this. This community and this genre means everything to me. Thank you all. Thank you, Recording Academy.”
