Grammys 2026: Watch Post Malone, Slash and Chad Smith honour Ozzy Osbourne with ‘War Pigs’ cover
At this year’s edition of the Grammys, the ceremony honoured the late Ozzy Osbourne, one of the greatest legends in the history of rock music.
‘The Prince of Darkness’, known for his invaluable contributions to heavy metal with Black Sabbath, which he founded alongside Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, and Geezer Butler in the late 1960s.
Osbourne, who had been struggling with health complications for a long time, passed away on July 22nd, 2025, “surrounded by love”.
In a statement released by the family at the time, they wrote: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.”
Adding, “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
For the tribute, the ceremony asked Chad Smith, Slash, Andrew Watt, Duff McKagan and Post Malone to perform a powerful rendition of ‘War Pigs’.
Throughout the entire performance, rock greats like Blondie’s Clem Burke, Ace Frehley from Kiss, Mick Ralphs and Brian James from The Damned were also remembered on the screen behind them.
As the camera covered the Osbourne family during the performance, Sharon looked like she was on the verge of tears, undoubtedly touched by the tribute.
Yungblud also picked up his first Grammy for his cover of ‘Changes’ during Ozzy’s farewell show at Villa Park.
