Glastonbury 2025: Watch Gracie Abrams perform triumphant ‘That’s So True’
Pop-star Gracie Abrams graced the Other Stage at Glastonbury Festival with her presence on June 27th.
The Los Angeles performer has never played Glastonbury before. She followed a varied line-up; earlier in the day, Wet Leg set the stage alight with their mix of punk sincerity and sultry indie-rock. Following their set, Franz Ferdinand brought back the 2000s house party for a crowd who exploded over ‘Take Me Out’ with Peter Capaldi.
Abrams’ offering is slower and more folky than the previous acts, but the crowd was no less enthused. ‘That’s So True’ is Abrams’ most popular offering. Though under three minutes long, it packs a heavy emotional punch and exemplifies the best of Abrams’ songwriting for the times; personal, guarded and yet symptomatic of the burning love and lust experienced in late teenage years.
The crowd seemed to recognise this too in their explosive reaction to the tune. The familiar lightness of the ‘oohs’ that open the choruses was echoed across the large crowd, who jigged and jived throughout the livelier moments.
Earlier this year, Abrams kicked off a European tour in Madrid. After traipsing through mainland Europe in February, Abrams played shows across the United Kingdom in March, including The O2 in London, Co-op Live in Manchester, and the First Direct Arena in Leeds.
Though her first time at the Festival, Abrams will not be short of friends in attendance; Olivia Rodrigo will headline the Pyramid Stage on the final night. Gracie Abrams and Olivia Rodrigo are close friends, inevitably gravitating towards each other as young performers in a harsh industry. Their friendship began in 2021; the pair grew closer when Abrams opened for Rodrigo’s ‘Sour’ tour in 2022.
Later this evening, indie-pop legends The 1975 will headline the Pyramid Stage, performing their only show of 2025. Loyle Carner will headline The Other Stage. Across the weekend, Charli XCX, Neil Young, CMAT and Pinkpantheress will perform, alongside hundreds of other names and some mysterious secret sets.
