Glastonbury 2025: The 1975 ask fans to send in content for “collaborative” project

The 1975 have asked fans to share their “memories” for a chance to be included in a project debuting at their headline Glastonbury set.

The Chocolate performers will headline Friday night on the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm, marking their first time topping the bill at Britain’s most prestigious festival. During the show, the band will debut a new collaborative fan project.

Via email, the band invited fans to “Join The 1975 in a special collaborative project for Glastonbury Festival. We’re inviting fans to share their favourite moments with The 1975 – whether it’s footage from concerts, photos with your vinyl collection, or clips of you and your friends enjoying the music.”

The message closed with the statement: “Your memories could be featured in a collaborative video project debuting at Glastonbury.”

The “memories” in question could be used by the 1975 for future projects, too. The disclaimer reminds fans that they will be granting the band “irrevocable right to use, reproduce, edit, publish, distribute, and publicly display the submitted media in any format or medium, now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to promotional materials, broadcasts, websites, and social media channels.”

The disclaimer for the content upload also stresses that “No compensation or credit will be provided for the use of the submitted media, and The 1975 is under no obligation to use any submission.”

The band has confirmed that their Glastonbury show will be the only one this year. “It’s such a big gig, and it’s the only show that we’re playing this year,” Jamie Oborne commented. “[Healy] thought doing it in isolation would be a really powerful thing. I obviously agreed with him, as I often do.”

They are instead focusing on a huge project that is reportedly set for release next year. Their manager described it as a “pretty extraordinary record.”

He continued, “I think they’ve earned the right to take their time. The world’s gonna be listening, so it needs to be right.”

Glastonbury Festival is set to take place between June 27th and June 29th with The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo headlining. Meanwhile, Charli XCX, Loyle Carner, and The Prodigy will headline The Other Stage.
