Glastonbury 2025: Lola Young sings to lifelike blow-up doll in oddest Glastonbury move so far

Indie-pop star Lola Young hit the Woodsies stage at Glastonbury for a hot performance on Friday afternoon, which included a hilarious moment for her latest single, ‘Not Like That Anymore’.

Beginning her set with ‘Good Books’, Young addressed a huge crowd that spilt out of the tent. “I take my job very seriously. Thank you so much for coming to see me,” she repeated throughout the show, showing sincere gratitude to the particularly young audience.

The live debut of her latest song called for a unique move from the young star. The single cover art shows Lola posing with a doll, with an eerily similar face to hers. At first, Young teased the fans in classic Glastonbury tradition: “I’m going to bring someone special on the stage if you don’t mind.”

She then grabbed the blow-up doll and held it up high. “Uh huh, it’s me. Let’s do this one,” she declared, twirling the object around the stage and pretending to have intercourse with herself in keeping with the humorous chorus. “Come here, baby, I’ve got you,” she addressed the doll halfway through the song.

A while later, she poked fun at herself after a particularly sunny day at Coachella caused the singer to feel particularly unwell on stage. “Coachella, you got the almost throwing up… Glastonbury, what are you going to get?” She jested with the audience, continuing, “And guess what it is? I’m almost throwing up again. So there you go!” She declared merrily, ready to charge into her final song.

Lola Young finished with ‘Messy’, an addictive, sugary-sweet song that saw dozens singing along on shoulders in the hot tent. Young has performed at Worthy Farm before, but no previous set so triumphant or so odd as her 2025 show.

Later this evening, indie-pop legends The 1975 will headline the Pyramid Stage and perform their only show of 2025. Loyle Carner will take to The Other Stage at the same time, only several hours after Wet Leg’s promising set.
