Glastonbury 2025: Lewis Capaldi reportedly set for mystery Pyramid Stage slot
Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi could be making a return to the Glastonbury Festival for a secret set later this month, a new report claims.
According to the Daily Mail, Capaldi is set to fill the as-yet-unannounced Friday afternoon slot on the Pyramid Stage.
This comes two years after Capaldi broke down on stage at the festival, with the singer citing anxiety, strained vocals and his struggle with tics triggered by Tourette’s Syndrome as reasons for him struggling to finish his set.
Prior to his 2023 performance, Capaldi had pulled out of three weeks’ worth of dates to prioritise his mental health before coming to Worthy Farm, although he found himself having to fight his way through the set before tearfully apologising to the crowd.
“I wanted to come back and do Glasto ’cause it’s so incredible,” Capaldi told the audience during his last performance. “I just wanna thank you for watching us. I was shit scared but you’ve really made me feel at ease. I’m really sorry. I hope the Eavises will have me back on, even though it’s been a bit of a shit show.”
There has been no official confirmation that Capaldi will be filling the slot, but according to the Daily Mail’s reports, he will be taking to the Pyramid Stage from 16:55 until 17:30, placing him between reggae legend Burning Spear and Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette.
While there are no other TBC slots on the main stage, fans are still speculating who the mysterious act known as ‘Patchwork’ is, with them set to take to the stage on Saturday evening. One of the contenders is Haim, who are playing a one-off date in Margate the day before, and several attentive fans have noted connections between the pseudonym and the band.
Other speculated surprise appearances at this year’s festival include Pulp, who have recently released More, their first studio album in 24 years, and Lorde, who is set to release her fourth album, Virgin, on the same Friday that the festival commences.
