Glastonbury 2025: Watch Charli XCX perform wild rendition of ‘Von Dutch’
It-girl Charli XCX turned the Other Stage into a nightclub for her Saturday night headline set at Glastonbury Festival, tearing it up with a wild performance of ‘Von Dutch’.
The Essex-born superstar had much to prove with the headline set, a year from her very own ‘Brat Summer’. The star has even curated her own festival in London’s Victoria Park, which saw the likes of Pinkpantheress, The Dare, 070 Shake, and Magdalena Bay come together to celebrate that prolific shade of lime green. The question, then, is how would she follow it all up?
The first lines of ‘Von Dutch’ succinctly sum up the atmosphere of the headline set. “It’s OK to just admit that you’re jealous of me,” she sings. It’s true: up there, she’s a cultural icon, a visual statement of the time. Charli serves up her sing-talk with fiery hot sex appeal and doesn’t falter once.
In a five star review of the tune, Far Out praised ‘Von Dutch’, writing, “The track calls back to a pop cultural landscape from two decades ago, the sonic embodiment of bedazzled flip phones and Paris Hilton, a return to the idea of the ‘it girl’ and a rejection of the Tiktok era. It’s an ode to last night’s eyeliner and this morning’s hangover, with bending synths sure to make you regret the latter.”
Friday night at Glastonbury saw The 1975 headline the Pyramid Stage and Loyle Carner headline the Other Stage. Stand-out sets from CMAT and Wet Leg began the day in an energetic, female-fronted way.
Charli XCX continues on that tune, while Neil Young soars through his set on the Pyramid Stage and Doechii packs a punch at the West Holts Stage. On Sunday, Olivia Rodrigo will close out the weekend.
All the while, Far Out are on the ground at the festival giving you all the best coverage of what happens, when it happens.
