Fourth accuser sues Marilyn Manson for rape, human trafficking and imprisonment

Marilyn Manson has been in the news almost constantly for the last few months as stories about misconduct continue to unfurl. Earlier this week, it was revealed that he is now set to turn himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department off the back of a New Hampshire warrant for his arrest for continually spitting on a videographer in 2019.

In this latest unpleasant episode is has been reported that he is set the face a lawsuit for rape, human trafficking and unlawful imprisonment. Back in May, the model Ashley Morgan Smithline, who goes by the professional name of Lindsay Morgan, documented the terrifying abuse that she allegedly faced during her relationship with Marilyn Manson, whom she has labelled the “most terrifying monster in the world”.

Wolf Alice’s Ellie Rowsell also accused Marilyn Manson of upskirt filming while backstage at a concert and brought intention to inherent issues of manipulation within the music industry.

Marilyn Manson defended himself against the accusations by labelling them “horrible distortions of reality.” The musician asserted that his relationships were always “consensual” and is yet to personally comment on the latest developments.

Speaking with People, Smithline accused Manson of raping her, cutting her, and locking her in a glass soundproof room which he dubbed the “the bad girl’s room” whenever she had “pissed him off.”

Smithline went on to say, “He kept telling me, ‘You can’t rape someone that you’re in love with’. There’s a difference between waking up to someone having sex with you nicely in the morning and waking up tied up with someone having sex with your unconscious body, being tied up and screaming and not enjoying it, and him laughing, like, sadistically, or gagging my mouth or something.”

Smithline is now pursuing the matter legally and is suing the singer, whose real name is Brian Warner. The model claims that Manson enticed her to move from Bangkok, where she was working as a model, to Los Angeles on the false promise that he would cast her in a remake of True Romance, which he was working on. She claims that legally speaking, this promise of work violates the Trafficking Victims Protection Act.

“Mr. Warner knew these offers to be fraudulent. No effort was made to complete production of the film project and to date nothing from that project has been published,” the suit claims.

“Mr. Warner merely used the film project as a pretense to lure Ms. Smithline to the United States.” The plaintiff declares that a jury trial has been demanded and it awaits to be seen whether the case will get its day in court soon.
