Footage emerges of reckless flare incident during Oasis Melbourne concert

Footage has emerged of Oasis’s Melbourne show, where a fan set off a flare in the middle of the crowd.

The Australian leg of the Britpop band’s tour officially started on October 31st. Their reunion tour has been successful so far, but tension erupted at their Melbourne show, as the band took to the stage at the packed Marvel Stadium with more than 50,000 fans in attendance.

While the majority of the gig was a success, towards the end of the night, as Oasis started playing ‘Champagne Supernova’, one fan let off a flare that they had sneaked into the stadium. They danced around with the lit flare for a while before throwing it behind their head and into the crowd. No injuries have been reported.

Footage has now emerged showing the incident. It’s hard to miss the flare, which burns brightly in the centre of the crowd before it goes flying high in the air thanks to the fan who threw it. The footage is taken from a distance, so it won’t help identify the person responsible.

Liam Gallagher made his disdain towards the fan in question known, as he took to social media to scorn the reckless behaviour.

“To the massive CUNT who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne,” he wrote, “You are 1 seriously fucked up individual and you will get yours trust me.”

Victoria Police have confirmed that there haven’t been any arrests made at this time. Marvel Stadium has yet to provide any comment on the incident or on additional security measures they may take for shows in the future.

Oasis’ next show in Australia takes place in Docklands on November 4th.

Footage of the incident is available below.
