Foo Fighters appear to tease release of new single
After recently returning to the stage, Foo Fighters appear to be teasing a new single.
The rock powerhouses completed an impromptu string of shows across intimate venues in the United States this summer, which they later released on Bandcamp as a live album.
Now, more music appears to be on the way. On October 16th, the Dave Grohl-led group took to Instagram to share a snippet of new music along with a video that depicts a parrot perched on the top of a series of amps in front of their famous logo.
Foo Fighters captioned the cryptic post, “About to take flight…”
Following their performance at the Singapore Grand Prix earlier this month, Foo Fighters commenced upon an arena tour of Japan which concluded on October 10th with a concert at the Glian Arena in Kobe.
Next month, they are set to play the Estadio Banorte in Monterrey, Mexico, with Queens of the Stone Age and Jehnny Beth, before headlining Corona Capital in Mexico City on November 14th.
They recently made an amendment to their line-up by replacing drummer Josh Freese, who joined following the sad death of Taylor Hawkins, with Nine Inch Nails’ Ilan Rubin. Freese has since begun performing with Nine Inch Nails, with whom he had previously played two decades ago.
As it stands, the only new release from Foo Fighters this year is ‘Today’s Song’, which arrived in May to coincide with their 30th anniversary.
Dave Grohl also emotionally reflected on their career so far, writing, “Over the years, we’ve had moments of unbridled joy, and moments of devastating heartbreak. Moments of beautiful victory, and moments of painful defeat. We have mended broken bones and broken hearts. But we have followed this road together, with each other, for each other, no matter what. Because in life, you just can’t go it alone.”
