Fontaines DC surprise release new song and David Lynch tribute on ‘Romance’ deluxe version

Fontaines DC have shared a deluxe edition of their critically acclaimed fourth album, Romance, featuring previously unreleased tracks.

The original 11-track album is extended to 14, with their latest single, ‘It’s Amazing To Be Young,’ preceding the brand new track ‘Before You I Just Forget.’ The deluxe album finishes with ‘Starburster/In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song),’ a stripped-back piano medley of their hit blended with a David Lynch song.

While Fontaines DC’s third album, Skinty Fia, became the band’s first UK and Ireland number one record, it was their fourth album, Romance, that took the band to new heights. It was their first LP backed by the label XL Recordings, and lead singles ‘Starburster’ and ‘Romance’ became two of the biggest rock hits of 2024.

The release comes just three months ahead of their upcoming summer shows, which see them play their biggest-ever headline show at Finsbury Park on July 5th, Cardiff Castle on July 30th and Wythenshawe Park in Manchester on August 15th.

Upon sharing details of their Finsbury Park show, the band announced Amyl and the Sniffers and Kneecap for the bill. Last week, the band added more names to the bill for their sold-out headline show. Blondshell and Been Stellar are heading in from the United States to bring some more indie firepower to the bill, with the latter band, in particular, riding the crest of a wave from their 2024 release Scream.

Elsewhere, the band announced that Cardinals will be taking part in the day to become the third Irish act on the bill.

Meanwhile, their Dublin contemporaries, The Murder Capital, will be joining the lineup for their Manchester show. They are the third act added alongside Mercury Prize winners English Teacher and Kneecap.
