Florence and the Machine announce new album, ‘Everybody Scream’
Florence and the Machine have announced their next album is set to be released, titled Everybody Scream.
The announcement of the record was made on Instagram on August 19th, with frontwoman Florence Welch sharing a series of images of the album’s artwork, and also revealing that it will be released on October 31st, to coincide with Halloween.
It comes after the singer shared an unsettling video of herself to social media last week, in which she was seen frantically digging a hole in the ground and screaming into it. This prompted speculation from fans that a new musical era could be on the horizon.
Subsequently, the band’s website was updated to reveal a new golden logo, which now leads fans to pre-order a copy of Everybody Screams prior to its release, with a number of products including vinyls, cassettes, and posters having been made available to buy.
Welch revealed little else in her post announcing the album regarding its singles or tracklist, but she had recently shared footage of herself working in the recording studio with Mark Bowen, the guitarist from the band Idles. It is not known whether he has played a production role in Everybody Scream.
Following on from their last album Dance Fever, released in 2022, expectation is high for Florence and the Machine to deliver another critically acclaimed masterpiece as their sixth studio record. Given the hints about Everybody Scream provided so far, the album could potentially present a darker and scarier new sound, compared to what the band have produced before.
Earlier this year, Welch had made small forays back into music via a collaboration with Bowen on a cover version of the No Doubt hit ‘Just a Girl’ for the soundtrack of the TV show Yellowjackets, as well as appearing on The Weeknd’s latest album.
Everybody Scream, the new album from Florence and the Machine, will be released on October 31st, 2025.
