Flogging Molly cancel Warped Tour amid singer Dave King’s brain injury: “Dave’s recovery comes first”
Flogging Molly have pulled out of the Warped Tour due to singer Dave King’s ongoing recovery from a brain injury.
Taking to social media on April 8th, the Celtic punk band shared, “Hi all, on doctor’s orders, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the Warped Tour performances we had scheduled for this year.”
They agonisingly continued, “We would have loved to have played for you all, but at the moment Dave’s recovery comes first.”
Flogging Molly added, “Thanks to everyone for your love and support, and we look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces on the cruise! Thanks you, Flogging Molly.”
As referenced in their statement, their annual Salty Dog Cruise is still set to go ahead later this year, setting sail from Miami on October 25th ahead of visits to Cozumel, Mexico and the Bahamas.
Flogging Molly will be joined on the Salty Dog Cruise by Bad Religion, Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls, Gogol Bordello, The Adicts, Beans on Toast, Death of Guitar Pop and more.
In March 2025, it was confirmed by Flogging Molly that King had suffered a brain haemorrhage that January, leaving him in a coma for two weeks and causing them to cancel all of their planned shows for the rest of 2025.
Last December, the frontman shared that his wife was warned by medical staff that she “may never see me again” and “if I did in fact survive, I would probably be a vegetable for the rest of my life”.
King added of his recovery, “It’s a great thing to be able to do, to pick up a guitar and play and even create something new from that experience. I’m getting excited about getting into a room again with my darling wife and my bandmates and working together again.”
