Flogging Molly cancel all shows due to David King’s “very serious health condition”

American punk band Flogging Molly have announced that they are cancelling all of their 2025 tour dates due to health issues faced by frontman Dave King.

The Celtic punk band, hailing from Los Angeles, shared the news on their social media page, explaining that they will be unable to headline their own Salty Dog Cruise, which will now go ahead without them. The event is an on-sea tour set to begin on February 17th, and last for five nights. The cruise will begin in the Port of Miami before heading to Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

In their statement, Flogging Molly said, “Our fearless leader, the inimitable Dave King, is currently battling a very serious health condition.” They continued, “Dave and Bridget ask everyone to respect their privacy at this time. We will share as we can. Any good thoughts or prayers you can send Dave’s way, he and we would appreciate it.”

“Unfortunately Flogging Molly will be unable to perform shows in 2025. With the Salty Dog Cruise 12 days away, the boat will sail as planned with 18 bands, and members of Flogging Molly, on board to celebrate the cruise, the community and our captain, Dave King,” the message added.

While the band have addressed the news in a public statement, details of King’s condition are yet to be revealed.

Following the Salty Dog Cruise, Flogging Molly’s 2025 official tour itinerary was set to begin on February 24th. It would have included dates in the US for two months followed by shows in Europe and Canada throughout the summer months.

The band formed in 1994, before releasing their first official album Swagger, in 2000. While the title track from their 2002 record Drunken Lullabies acts as their most recognisable song, it was their 2008 album Float that marked their most successful record release, reaching 4th position on the Billboard 200.
