Finneas defends sister Billie Eilish following backlash to anti-ICE Grammys speech: “We can literally see your names in the Epstein files”

Finneas has come to the defence of his sister, Billie Eilish, after she faced a backlash following her anti-ICE speech at the Grammys.

Upon winning the ‘Song of the Year’ award at the ceremony for her track ‘Wildflower’, Eilish took to the stage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles to declare that “no one is illegal on stolen land”.

In her speech, she also urged those watching, “We need to keep speaking up and keep protesting. Our voices really do matter.” Eilish concluded her speech by saying, “And fuck ICE, that’s all I’m gonna say. Sorry.”

Since then, Eilish was called “ill-informed” by Kristi Noem for her comments about ICE, and Elon Musk also described her as “such a hypocrite” on X.

On February 4th, Finneas wrote on Threads in response to the recent attacks on his sister, “Seeing a lot of very powerful old white men outraged about what my 24 year old sister said during her acceptance speech. We can literally see your names in the Epstein files.”

He also clapped back at an article posted by USA Today, which criticised Eilish and Bad Bunny. The headline of the article reads, “Bad Bunny and Billie Eilish, you are famous because of your talents as musicians, not because of your idiotic views on politics and President Trump.”

Finneas wrote in response to the article, “You just can’t do both. You can’t say it doesn’t matter what musicians or celebrities say or think but then talk about it for days. You’re out here making it matter. I’ll keep speaking up especially if it keeps bothering you.”

President Trump also vented his frustration at artists using their voice at the Grammys, which he found time to watch on Sunday evening, writing on Truth Social, “The Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable! CBS is lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer.”

Additionally, Trump threatened to sue host Trevor Noah for jibes he made at his expense. The president also described him as a “total loser”, a “poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an MC”, and said he’s “almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel“.
