Grammys 2026: Donald Trump blasts ceremony as “garbage litter” and Trevor Noah “a total loser”
Following the conclusion of the Grammys 2026, Donald Trump has branded the ceremony as “garbage litter” while also denouncing host Trevor Noah as “a total loser”.
The US President took to his Truth Social platform in the hours after the ceremony ended on January 31st, primarily to take aim at Noah for making a joke about him regarding his friendship Jeffrey Epstein, and his alleged visits to Epstein’s island.
Launching into an extended rant after the ceremony, Trump wrote: “The Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable! CBS is lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer.”
He continued: “The host, Trevor Noah, whoever he may be, is almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards. Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!!”
Noah made the joke after Billie Eilish’s win for ‘Song of the Year’ with ‘Wildflower’. He said: “That’s a Grammy that every artist wants — almost as much as Trump wants Greenland. Which makes sense because, since Epstein’s gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton.”
Subsequently, Trump added that Noah is “a total loser” for making the “false and defamatory” statement because he has “never been accused of being there”.
He also claimed that he is going to set his lawyers about suing Noah, calling him a “poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an MC”. Trump concluded his statement by saying: “Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!”
It comes after a number of the top winners from the night all took aim at the president in their victory speeches, with Eilish saying in her ‘Song of the Year’ win that “no one is illegal on stolen land”.
Bad Bunny, who made history as the first ever Spanish-language artist to win ‘Album of the Year’, also said earlier in the night, during his speech after winning ‘Best Música Urbana Album’: “Before I say thanks to god, I’m going to say, ICE out.”
