Finn Wolfhard returns with nostalgic new single ‘Tunnels’
Finn Wolfhard has returned with a hefty dose of indie rock on ‘Tunnels’, his latest single from the forthcoming album, Fire From The Hip.
The former Stranger Things star continues his pivot into a full-fledged music career with ‘Tunnels’, which begins with the evocative lyrics, “I said I was afraid of death, you said remember before your birth.”
The song comes in the lead-up to the highly anticipated sophomore album, Fire From The Hip, following up the widely celebrated debut, Happy Birthday, released in June last year through AWAL.
When discussing the release of his new album, the 23-year-old star shared, “I grew up in such an incredible time for pop culture, of course my music is influenced by these events I lived through. I’ll never forget recording this album.”
As well as his unique position in current pop culture, the new album has been inspired by pivotal rock from the 1960s and 1970s, including The Rolling Stones’ 1972 album Exile On Main Street and 1968 album Beggars Banquet.
Wolfhard has already been around the track on a US tour, and has soared through a sold-out show at London’s Electric Brixton.
He’s looking to do it all again on a North American headline tour, which kicks off on July 17th in Washington, D.C.
The run includes stops in New York, Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Vancouver, along with festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Osheaga, and Austin City Limits.
Elsewhere on the music scene, Wolfhard has been busy working for other iconic artists; at the end of last year, he directed a new music video for the George Harrison classic, ‘Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)’.
Fire From The Hip is out on July 10th. See the full tracklist below.
