Final names including Florence Pugh and Paul Weller added to Together for Palestine line-up
The final names set to appear on the line-up for the upcoming Together for Palestine fundraising concert have been revealed, featuring Florence Pugh and Paul Weller.
The gig, which is set to take place at Wembley Arena in London on September 17th, now hosts an extensive line-up of figures from across the entertainment industry, coming together in support of a range of Palestinian causes. Tickets for the event have now sold out, but a livestream will be available from 7pm on the night.
The new names joining the line-up, just days before the concert is due to take place, include Pugh alongside actors Khalid Abdalla and Ruth Negga, and Weller with musicians such as Amena, Neneh Cherry, Lana Lubany, Madame Gandhi, Sura Abdo, Yasmeen Ayyashi, Ysee, and the London Community Gospel Choir.
They will be joined by broadcaster Laura Whitmore alongside newly announced presenter for the night, Guz Khan, who said of the event: “When you see kids in Gaza facing bombs instead of books, you realise this can’t be normalised. That silence isn’t an option. That’s why this concert matters. Together for Palestine is about solidarity, love – and saying we see you, we stand with you.”
The Together for Palestine benefit concert has been organised by Brian Eno, with a core line-up of previously announced musical names including Damon Albarn, King Krule, Bastille, Rina Sawayama, Jamie XX, Hot Chip, Paloma Faith, James Blake and Sampha.
Upon announcing the event in August, Eno said, “In the face of the horrors of Gaza, silence becomes complicity. Artists have always helped societies to point out injustice and imagine better futures. That’s why this concert matters. It’s time for us to come together — not just to raise our voices, but to reaffirm our shared humanity.”
It will raise funds for Palestinian causes through its ticketing and merchandise sales, with all profits being split between a number of organisations in Gaza, such as Taawon, the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, and the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, via Choose Love.
