Emmy Awards 2026: The list of nominations across the major categories
The full list of nominations for the upcoming edition of the Emmy Awards have been unveiled ahead of the ceremony later this year.
The most prestigious night in the calendar for television is set to roll around again on September 14th, when the great and the good of the industry gather at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
In total, The Pitt is leading the pack with a staggering 25 nominations, with Hacks closely trailing behind with 24, which is a new record for a comedy series. Meanwhile, Widow’s Bay is the new show with the most to shout about, with 19 nods.
On hosting duties this year will be Mariska Hargitay, who is best known for starring in Law & Order: SVU. “Few performers have left the kind of mark on television that Mariska has,” Jen Neal, NBC’s executive vice president of live events, said in a statement of Harigtary.
Neal added, “For 27 seasons, she has brought strength, compassion and humanity to one of the most beloved characters on TV.”
In 2025, Adolescence had a night to remember at the ceremony, picking up a total of six awards, including then-15-year-old actor Owen Cooper, who played the character of Jamie Miller, winning the award for ‘Supporting actor in a Limited or Anthology Series’, making him the youngest ever Emmy recipient.
Other big wins of the night came for The Studio, the Seth Rogen comedy series for Apple TV+, which holds a satirical mirror up to the Hollywood landscape.
For its part, Rogen took home the award for ‘Directing for a Comedy Series’, beating out strong competition from the likes of The Bear and Hacks in the same category.
The Pitt also won big in 2025, securing five awards, including ‘Best Drama Series’ and Noah Wyle taking home ‘Best Actor in a Drama Series’, which they’ll be hoping to replicate again this year after being nominated once more.
Now, it has been confirmed which shows from the last 12 months will look set to follow in its footsteps in 2026.
