Elton John announces Singapore concert despite retirement from touring
Despite retiring from touring in 2023, Elton John has confirmed he will perform at the F1 Grand Prix in Singapore.
The performance is set to take place on October 5th, 2025, following the conclusion of the F1 race in Singapore earlier that day. Additionally, South Korean rapper G-Dragon will also deliver a set during the week of the Singapore Grand Prix, taking to the stage on October 3rd.
Following the conclusion of his lengthy Goodbye Yellow Brick Road tour, which included a headline set at Glastonbury Festival, Elton has remained busy and made many public appearances but has rarely performed since.
During a recent interview with Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2 which was broadcast earlier this month, John explained how he’s enjoying retirement and had no plans to return to the road in a full-time capacity.
“I am and it’s wonderful,” he said when asked if he’s enjoying his new life, adding, “I don’t miss playing live at all. I do not miss playing live. Fact. I do not miss it one iota. I’ve done some private shows where I, you know, to keep my chops ready, and that’s been great.”
John continued: “But no, I don’t miss it, I dread it. I have to keep playing music and I will make other records and I will be doing different sorts of records […] It is the end of the live music, yes.”
Additionally, the ‘Rocket Man’ is set to perform a special intimate show at the London Palladium on March 26th, 2025, with Brandi Carlile to celebrate the launch of their new joint album, Who Believes in Angels?
The upcoming album will be released on April 4th. The duo recorded the body of work in only 20 days at Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles towards the end of 2023.
