The Fall’s last official studio album, New Facts Emerge, was released in 2017, just a few months before the passing of frontman Mark E Smith.

The legendary post-punk singer died in his home on January 24th, 2018, he was an integral part of the band and famously a perfectionist.

News of his death originally came from the band’s manager at the time, Pamela Vander, who released a statement.

It read: “It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Mark E. Smith. He passed this morning at home.”

Details of when these new songs were written or how they have been recorded are as yet unknown.
