Donald Trump calls for Seth Meyers to be fired after he called him “the most unpopular president of all time”

Donald Trump has called for Seth Meyers to be fired from NBC following recent comments he made about the president.

On November 15th, Trump reacted to Meyers’ impassioned speech against its governance of the United States on the latest episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, which had aired the night before.

On Truth Social, he wrote, “NBC’s Seth Meyers is suffering from an incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). He was viewed last night in an uncontrollable rage, likely due to the fact that his ‘show’ is a Ratings DISASTER. Aside from everything else, Meyers has no talent, and NBC should fire him, IMMEDIATELY.”

Significantly, the post was later reshared on X by Brendan Carr, who Trump appointed as FCC chairman. Carr previously called on Jimmy Kimmel to be suspended in September, which led to ABC taking him off the air.

Carr later shared an image on social media of himself with Trump this weekend.

His comments on Truth Social appear to be in response to Meyers stating that Trump is “by all the accounts the most unpopular president of all time” on November 14th.

He then spoke of the recent polls that suggest Trump’s popularity among American voters is down to 33 per cent, which is considerably less than in March when the last polling was carried out.

The comedian also addressed the recently released emails that convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein sent about Trump, and the president’s refusal to discuss the scandal at a press conference.

Meyers told viewers, “It’s taken 10 years but we’re finally seeing a sizable portion of the Maga base grow frustrated with Trump both on policy and on the Epstein scandal. It’s still not a majority, but a growing number of Republicans are losing patience with Trump.”

The ongoing Epstein scandal was also the butt of jokes during the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live on November 15th.
