Legendary rapper DMX has revealed that he has team up with U2’s Bono for a new track called ‘Skyscrapers’.
Speaking to Drink Champs podcast DMX revealed that he has a new album on the way featuring an array of guest star’s, but the Irish rocker was certainly amongst the most noteworthy.
“It’s crazy,” DMX described the song, “It’s got like a Miami feel to it. I feel like I want to shoot the video [there].”
DMX revealed that he was introduced to Bono by the producer of his latest record Swizz Beatz. Beatz had met the U2 frontman via Interscope Records boss Jimmy Iovine. Bono and The Edge later went on to feature on the Swizz Beatz-produced Jay-Z and Rihanna track ‘Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)’. Regarding the team up Beatz simply told MTV, “Bono, he’s a music lover. I’m a music lover,” as simple as that.
The record will be DMX’s first full-length LP since his 2012 effort Undisputed, as of yet the album remains unnamed, but he did confirm that it will have plenty of guest spots. The rapper confirmed, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Alicia Keys, Usher and Pop Smoke have all collaborated with him on the project.
As of yet there is no set release day for the album but it does appear to be heading towards the mastering stages, so eager fans shouldn’t have to wait too long.
