Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs hit with third superseding indictment

Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs is facing a third superseding indictment, in which he’s been hit with five criminal counts, including racketeering and sex trafficking. The Bad Boy rapper’s trial is set to begin on May 5th.

The new indictment, filed on April 4th, adds another sex trafficking charge and another transportation to engage in prostitution charge, resulting in the possibility of further time behind bars.

Combs was arrested in September and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He’s currently jailed at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn alongside other high-profile prisoners such as Luigi Mangione and Sam Bankman-Fried.

He pled not guilty after the Department of Homeland Security raided his properties and faces up to life in prison if convicted of the charges against him.

Combs’ legal team has continued to deny all allegations. An example of their recent statements reads, “Mr Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor.”

Earlier this week, a sexual assault lawsuit against Combs was dismissed due to the accuser refusing to reveal her identity. “As a result, all pending motions were terminated, and the case has been formally closed,” the order read.

US District Judge Lewis Liman wrote, “The very gravity of the charges, combined with the fact that Plaintiff has presented no evidence of specific and concrete harm from disclosure of her identity and the severe prejudice to Defendants from keeping that identity confidential, undermine her claim to proceed anonymously.”
