Deftones appear to tease huge London show with billboards
Deftones are seemingly teasing a huge show set to take place in London, with mysterious billboards popping up across the east of the city.
The billboards display the cover artwork from the band’s latest album, Private Music, of a white snake against a neon green background, with the words “London. 23/08/26” written underneath, hinting towards the fact that the Grammy-nominees are set to head to the UK next August.
The date of August 23rd, combined with the East London location of the billboards, has roused suspicion that Deftones could be performing at All Points East, which is set to run across the final two weekends of August.
Tyler, The Creator will be headlining two dates at the festival on August 28th and August 29th, with the likes of Turnstile, Rex Orange County, and Mariah the Scientist joining him on the first day. The currently announced line-up for the second day will consist of Daniel Caesar, Baby Keem, and Dijon.
However, no further dates have been confirmed for the event. The possible addition of Deftones as headliners to the first weekend of the festival is made all the more likely given that they will already have been on the country’s soil earlier in the year, with them embarking on a string of dates across the UK and Ireland in February.
The band are set to perform in Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Dublin, Cardiff, and London, all the tickets for which are already sold out. Combined with their potential headline appearance at All Points East, the tour will mark Deftones’ first performances back in the UK since this summer, where they most notably were forced to pull out of their headline slot on The Other Stage at Glastonbury this summer due to an illness in the band.
Deftones’ latest album, Private Music, was released back in August alongside its lead single, ‘My Mind is a Mountain’, marking their tenth record over an almost 40-year career.
