Deftones announce new album ‘Private Music’, share lead single and reveal tour dates
Deftones have announced their next album, ‘Private Music’, with the release of an angsty lead single, ‘My Mind is a Mountain’.
The new release comes half a decade since their last offering; in 2020, they released both White Pony (20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) and Ohms, which includes tracks like ‘Genesis’ and ‘Ceremony’.
Deftones recently performed alongside Weezer at a huge headline show in Crystal Palace Park in South London. During the set, they suggested new music wasn’t far away. This came only one day after they pulled out of a huge slot at Glastonbury Festival due to an illness in the band with Skepta stepping in to replace them on The Other Stage before Charli XCX.
The record is co-produced by Nick Raskulinecz, who has worked with Alice in Chains and Foo Fighters and assisted in Deftones’ previous albums like 2010’s Diamond Eyes and 2012’s Koi No Yoka.
The day the record is released also marks the first show in Deftones’ North American tour, kicking off with a night in Vancouver. Support acts include Phantogram, Barbarians of California, and Idles.
Deftones have also announced that they will tour the new album in arenas across Europe and the UK in early 2026. The tour kicks off January 29th at the Adidas Arena in Paris.
It will hit major cities like Berlin, Amsterdam, Manchester and Dublin before ending with a huge show at The O2 in London on February 20th. For this leg of their tour, Denzel Curry and Drug Church will provide support.
The 11-song tracklist has also been released, including titles like ‘Metal Dream’, ‘Cut Hands’, and ‘Souveneir’. Private Music will arrive on August 22nd via Reprise/Warner Records.
