Rock on: Deep Purple announce 2026 North American tour dates
Deep Purple have announced a run of North American tour dates, set to take place later this year.
The classic rock band revealed the news on March 30th, unveiling a 24-date stint that will take them across the US and Canada over the course of August and September this year.
The tour is set to kick off on August 4th in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the Red Hot Amphitheater, and conclude at the Nugget Event Center in Sparks, Nevada on September 12th. Along the way, there will be stops in places such as Toronto, Detroit, and Las Vegas.
In addition, the band will be joined by rock royalty in the form of Kansas and Jefferson Starship as their support acts, although the latter will only appear at select dates.
The freshly-announced Stateside tour will come in advance of Deep Purple’s return to home shores in November, where they are set to embark on a UK tour that will see them play in Newcastle, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, and London.
On top of this, they will also play a historic final show of the run at the Royal Albert Hall in London on November 25th, celebrating the legacy of their iconic performance at the venue in 1969 when they became the first band to perform a classical concerto live alongside an orchestra.
Although the past number of years have been difficult for the band, with guitarist Ian Gillan revealing last year that he was considering retirement due to his deteriorating eyesight, the classic rocker recently revealed that they have plans for a new album.
Speaking of the record’s concept, he said in a recent interview with Songwriting for Songwriters: “Well, it’s very interesting on this one. I can’t give you too much at this stage, but it’s basically very optimistic. Let’s say there’s a general theme. It’s a fairly loose conceptual idea of the end of humanity, but not as grim as it sounds. In fact, it’s very optimistic.”
Gillan added: “It’s about the metamorphosis of humanity into a metaphysical state, our next incarnation. It’s a bit too early to be doing interviews about this. I don’t mean time of day. I mean, it’s not gonna be out until June, so I don’t want to give too much away.”
Tickets for Deep Purple’s North American tour will go on general sale from April 4th, with various presales beginning from March 31st.
