Deep Purple announce new UK tour
Deep Purple have announced that they are set to embark on a new tour of the UK in November next year.
The classic rockers revealed the news on November 18th, following on from their most recent album =1 in 2024, that they would be taking to stages across their home country next autumn, stopping off for five special dates in different cities.
The band will visit Newcastle, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, and London over the course of November 18th to 24th, 2026, hitting arenas in the four former cities before concluding at the Eventim Apollo in the capital.
Over the five dates they will be supported by rising UK rock band Jayler, as well as Mammoth, fronted by Wolfgang Van Halen, in Newcastle, Glasgow, Birmingham, and Manchester.
Capitalising on their current success, Deep Purple are the latest band to be given the zeitgeist treatment, after their classic 1970 hit ‘Child In Time’ was used as the soundtrack for the trailer of the fifth series of Stranger Things, set to be released on Netflix at the end of the month.
However, the news of the tour also comes as the band’s guitarist, Ian Gillan, recently confessed that his eyesight is deteriorating and he may be close to approaching retirement.
In comments published by Uncut, he said: “It’s one of those things. I’ve only got 30 per cent vision. That won’t get better. It makes life mysterious.”
Gillan added: “I think if I lose my energy I’m going to stop. I don’t want to be an embarrassment to anyone. We’re not far off that. It creeps up on you – you don’t really notice.”
Tickets for Deep Purple’s new UK tour will go on sale from November 21st at 10am local time.
