David Bowie to release unheard live album for Record Store Day 2020
David Bowie fans may be among the luckiest at this year’s Record Store Day 2020 as the late artist’s estate have confirmed that another album of Bowie rarities will be unearthed for the annual event.
It’s a special one too as I’m Only Dancing (The Soul Tour 74) will take fans back in time to a very special moment in Bowie’s career as he went all American on us and delivered some of his most notable work.
The release takes recordings from two shows on Bowie’s Diamond Dogs Tour, in Detroit and Nashville, and sees the singer deliver some immeasurably brilliant performances.
The album will come as a double LP and will feature some previously unheard songs as well as some classics. Our most eagerly anticipated number if the final one on the album, the cover of Rolling Stones’ ‘It’s Only Rock and Roll’ which has previously only be available as a bootleg.
This isn’t the first batch of rarities to come out for RSD 2020. The singer will also haveChangesNoBowie, a nine-track album of mostly acoustic numbers, be released. Most of the songs on that one were recorded in New York during the rehearsal for Bowie’s 50th birthday concert at Madison Square Garden back in 1996.
