Finally, we have a response from Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl to the challenge laid down by the 10-year-old drumming whizz, Nandi Bushell and it sees Grohl laying down the gauntlet for the kid.
Following the viral sensation of a Nirvana cover, Bushell has been on a meteoric rise as she hones her musical skills with prolific effect. Another cover Bushell put out to the masses caught a lot of attention.
The cover is the young drummer’s sensational attempt at the Foo Fighters song ‘Everlong’ and marks her out as one of the best musicians in the world for her age and also saw her challenge Dave Grohl, the writer of the track, to a drum-off.
The youngster detailed her dream to jam with Foo Fighters with her recent effort: “My dream is to one day jam with Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins and all the Foo Fighters,” the youngster wrote in the accompanying description of her cover.
“Mr Grohl I would love to have a drum battle with you! I LOVE Everlong, it’s really hard to play as it’s so fast but so much FUN!”
Grohl has now responded with his own challenge for Bushell, taking on ‘Dead End Friends’ by Them Crooked Vultures a supergroup which featured Grohl alongside Josh Homme and John Paul Jones.
You can listen to the drum track and Grohl’s response in the tweet below. But judging by Bushell’s ability, we’re pretty sure she will take this cove rin her stride.
