Courtney Love set to receive British citizenship: “It’s so great to live here”

Courtney Love has revealed that she is set to become a British citizen in six months’ time.

Love made the remark during a recent appearance at London’s Royal Geographical Society alongside the actor-writer Todd Almond, celebrating the release of his new oral history book, Slow Train Coming: Bob Dylan’s ‘Girl From the North Country’ and Broadway’s Rebirth.

During the evening of March 5th, Love took to the stage to cover ‘Like A Rolling Stone’ by Dylan alongside Almond, and also had a lengthy conversation which provided an insight into her current life in the United Kingdom.

According to Mail Online, Love explained to those in attendance: “I’m really glad I’m here. It’s so great to live here. I’m finally getting my British citizenship in six months. I get to be a citizen – I’m applying, man! Can’t get rid of me!”

“In terms of Trump, and particularly this group… it’s like emperor-core – like, (they’re) wearing million-dollar watches,” she also said of the President and those such as Elon Musk that he surrounds himself around.

The Hole vocalist continued: “Emperor-core is going on at Mar-a-Lago. It’s frightening now. It’s like cyanide now.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Love once again shut down rumours that her band Hole would be reuniting, while also announcing that she plans to go on tour in her own right soon.

In February, Love made a rare appearance at The Garage in London with Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong’s covers band The Coverups. She told those in attendance: “You may not remember me. I’ve been living in a cave in Birmingham for about nine years. We’ll give this a fucking try, right.”
